I have had the joy of conducting and celebrating with many couples as they exchange their wedding vows and embark on their married life together. As a Baptist minister there are two important points to be clear regarding a wedding. First, I am legally required to provide a religious wedding ceremony and as a minimum this would include Bible readings and prayers. Second, this marriage ceremony would be between a man and a woman; I would meet with the bride & groom to learn of their story and their journey together so far.
Through time spent together, we develop a personal and meaningful wedding service which is tailored to their preferences. A wedding is a unique occasion and is day is a day which has been dreamed of for many years and one which holds many hopes and expectations.
The bride and groom may have been previously married or this may be their first wedding. Either way, at Kinglass Ministries the emphasis is on the personal, on the couple and the celebration of two lives coming together to be one before God.
Couples may wish to have loved ones involved in the service through participation in readings, prayers or music and this can help to create a very personalised and meaningful service. If there are children whom the couple would like to be involved, this is encouraged and suggestions can be openly discussed about how this might be realised.
The location of this service/ceremony is the choice of the couple and can be conducted in a special place of their choosing. This is all a part of creating a service which is deeply personal.
The cost of this Service £500
There are times and circumstances where couples may have lived together for some time without feeling the need to being married. Then, for whatever reason, perhaps through illness and declining health, this couple would like to be married. If one person in the couple is palliative then there is the opportunity to apply for a 'Marriage at Short Notice'. This can be discussed directly if required.
The cost of this service can be discussed.
