I have journeyed with many people at end-of-life, supporting them to construct and write their own funeral service and making sure that their voice is at the very heart of this service. I have also supported families of loved ones who I have never known and been able to support them to develop a meaningful personal service which is centred on their loved one and is able to have their voice at the heart. Tributes from family and friends are encouraged and can be included as part of the service.
It is important to glean the most meaningful memories which you wish to share with those who have come to celebrate your loved one's life. Although this is a sad time, it is often through spending time reflecting on those beautiful memories, that this brings comfort to those who have gathered. This can truly be a time of celebration and thankfulness. It can be meaningful and be a source of deep healing which brings peace and comfort to everyone gathered to celebrate your loved one.
The service can be conducted in a location of the person/family's choosing with the final act of committal and internment either at the graveside or at a Crematorium.
The cost of this service is £200
A Direct Cremation is where someone is cremated without a formal service or ceremony and where no family or mourners are present.
At Kinglass Ministries, we are able to support you to say your farewells and goodbyes and mourn your loved one by meeting somewhere prior to their final journey to the crematorium, where we'd have a short gathering for thought and final reflection. This would include a prayer, Bible reading, Act of Committal, a prayer for your loved one and a prayer for the family. This would take between 2-4mins.
The cost of this would be from £50
(This would include contact with the family, preparation time, material, travel, delivery of service, available for a short time after the service to support the family if required)
